About Steve Exten

I am just an ordinary guy who enjoys writing and artwork, mechanical things and riding motorbikes. And that in a nutshell is a precis of my life, well sort of.
I have been writing and dabbling with drawing, off and on, for ever. I don’t draw so often these days. But I try to write every day. The drawing though comes in bursts and there can be years between them.
I have been a gardener, a groundsman, a tractor driver. I have picked cucumbers and rivetted aircraft firewalls. And now I am retired.
I love chunky engineering, steam ships, lifting bridges, canal barges, classic yachts, and piston-engine aircraft; and maps. Oh, I love maps. A map is a flat book, a historical montage. Maps can tell you so much, I read them, and draw them as well.
I love the pale red of a solitary poppy; wild meadow flowers and woodland bluebells; layered hedgerows and dry-stone walls; the music of Carlos Santana, Vaughan Williams, and the art of Kandinsky.
Rogue Orbit is the Book before Book One in the AtomSpheres Legacy series. And Club 5 Eight Zero 6 is Book One.
I live with Chris, my wife (and my motorbikes), in the West of England.
